What would a day in the Bigg Boss 8 house be like if it did not start with a brawl? A prank goes terribly wrong and the captain of the house, Sonali Raut, goes on a witch-hunt to find the culprit that has hidden her coffee mug in the lost and found section! After defying Bigg Boss’ predictions, Upen and Dimpy are suffering from having spent a sleepless night.

Adding to this, Gautam and Karishma are sportingly defying the predictions made by Bigg Boss in the ‘Bhavishyawani’ by holding hands and dancing to an improvised version of “Dilli Wali Girlfriend”.

The festive season brings with it more reasons to celebrate as the contestants inside the Bigg Boss house come together to celebrate captain Sonali’s birthday with much fanfare.

In fact, Bigg Boss also sends a delicious chocolate cake and some goodies for Sonali to make her day more special.

Bigg Boss also introduces the ‘BB News’ task for the contestants during the day. As a part of the task, the contestants alternatively turn into reporters and celebrities to quiz each other about their performance, strategies, fight and more.

Will BB News reporters succeed in the exposé or would they pave way for a new scandal in the Bigg Boss house? And, will the media-wary contestants turn into some great reporters and get the real scoop behind the biggest fights?

The trailer of supernatural erotica “Khamoshiyan” has received a roaring response with over two million views on online video-sharing site YouTube. The trailer, though intriguing, sets the milieu of the film and establishes the supernatural element. The trailer, which released over 10 days ago, features the title track “Khamoshiyan” in the background. It is sung by the melodious Arijit Singh. The film centres around a writer (Ali Fazal) in search of a story; and a conniving seductress, played by Sapna Pabbi.
The cast and crew of the film took to Twitter to share their feelings on the response to the trailer.
The film’s producer Mahesh Bhatt posted: “Content is always a winner! Khamoshiyan trailer smashes past the 2 million view mark!
Our Khamoshiyan trailer has dashed past the 2 million view mark! Feeling great,” shared Vikram Bhatt, who wrote the script for the film.
Sapna says she is “feeling blessed” with all the love.
Produced by Vishesh Films and presented by Fox Star Studios, the Karan Darra directorial, which also stars Gurmeet Choudhary, is set to release Jan 30, 2015.

Sony Pictures has threatened Twitter with legal action unless it removes confidential material stolen from the movie company’s computers that someone has posted on the social networking site.

The threat is the latest fallout from the hacking of the  movie studio, which US officials have blamed on North Korea.
A group calling itself “Guardians of Peace” took credit for infiltrating Sony’s computer systems in retribution for plans to release the film “The Interview”, which mocked North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
The hackers destroyed numerous Sony computer files and  published several embarrassing emails containing unflattering remarks about movie stars and confidential celebrity pay information.

Some of that material now has been posted on Twitter, said an attorney for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), David Boies, in a December 22 letter to the company’s lawyer, demanding that it be removed.
In the letter addressed to Twitter’s general counsel Vijaya Gadde, Boies asked that the Twitter account be suspended.

If the company fails to comply, Boies wrote, “SPE will have no choice but to hold Twitter responsible for any damage or loss arising from such use or dissemination by Twitter, including any damages or loss to SPE or others, and including, but not limited to, any loss of value of intellectual property and trade secrets resulting from Twitter’s actions.”
Meanwhile, in a separate development, some 250 independent movie theater owners expressed “solidarity” with Sony Pictures on the change.org website.

The art house cinema owners “reaffirm clearly our dedication to the value of freedom and the absolute necessity to keep our film industry free of restriction, censorship and violent intimidation,” they wrote, encouraging independent movie houses to dare to show the film.

Just last week, Hollywood star George Clooney slammed the industry for failing to stand up against the cyber threats that ultimately led Sony Pictures to cancel The Interview’s planned Christmas Day release.
No one, the actor said, was brave enough to sign the petition, fearing that doing so could make them vulnerable to a hacking attack like the one that befell Sony.
Shahid Kapoor has become very sociable in terms of social media. He has been posting pictures on his Instagram of the various ‘Shaandaar’ moments from his life.

He recently put this picture from the Big Star Entertainment Award show, where Salman Khan had performed on his popular dance numbers.
Reportedly, he went down from the stage and urged Shahid to dance with him.

And as the proud badge owner of one of the most fantastic dancers of the industry, Shahid gave in and danced with ‘Bhai’ Salman Khan.
He posted the picture of this moment and captioned it, “How about that for a fun day at work . Win an award anddddd dance with BHAI . Amaze.”

Salman had always been a fan of Shahid’s dance moves and whenever the latter has made an appearance on Salman Khan-hosted ‘Bigg Boss’, he has always asked Shahid to teach a move or two.
IN PICS – Salman Khan, Priyanka, Alia, Sonakshi, Shahid shine at award show

Also, the Shahid – Salman relationship has been a sweet sour one, soured because of a dance tour only, as Shahid had, reportedly, tried to boss around, being a better dancer.

But now, as the picture is speaking a thousand words, all seems well.

There is always something that holds us back. It might not be an issue with everyone, but most of us will agree. And now, here comes PK.
With childlike curiosity, PK searches for answers to questions that no one has asked before. He tries to understand complex philosophies of life and religion through his naive questions.
The answers he unravels will make you scrutinize your own beliefs and reality.

Such is the power of PK. Simple, yet evocative.
Rajkumar Hirani plays with his signature style of filmmaking. Munnabhai made us laugh, Rancho gave us lessons on true education, and PK tells us the true meaning of faith, love and friendship.

It will remind you of other films like Umesh Shukla’s OMG and Rajit Kapur’s Ankhon Dekhi.
But what makes PK shines is its unique storytelling, humor and of course, the flamboyant Aamir Khan.
SubmitAs PK, Aamir Khan gives a stellar performance. His body language, the expressions and the Bhojpuri accent steal the show.

Anushka Sharma as Jaggu also does a wonderful job. It won’t be justified if I don’t mention Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Dutt.
They are both brilliant, especially Saurabh Shukla as the manipulative Godman. After the interval, the film takes a downward turn.

Melodrama ensues. Despite the good performances by the characters, certain scenes of the film are stale and the climax feels a bit too lengthy for a simple story like PK. It makes you ask, "Is this a waste of time?" But thankfully, PK recovers from it soon.

The music by Atul Gogavale and Shantanu Moitra is fresh, but doesn’t make a lasting impact. Why should you watch the film? PK is a fun film to watch.
Watch it for Aamir Khan’s outlandish yet heart-warming performance. PK will make you smile, laugh and cry. And most of all, he will make you realize how important it is to believe in ourselves and humanity, rather then following any faith blindly.
If the industry grapevine is to be believed, the first look of Roy has not gone down well with Ranbir Kapoor. Sources said the actor, who has a short role in the film, is unhappy that the makers are promoting it as a regular Ranbir Kapoor -starrer .

So much so that he declined to attend the trailer launch though he was very much in town.

Industry insiders suggest that he has decided not to promote the film or speak to the media regarding it.
“Roy is essentially an Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez film but the way it is being projected — giving Ranbir unwanted prominence in the posters — is funny.

In fact, it is misleading. Ranbir has not spoken about the film which is a tell-tale sign,” a source says, adding that the film is slated for a February release.

Ranbir is said to have taken up the project as the director Vikramjit Singh is his childhood friend.
The actor, however, chose not to respond on this issue.
We hope the food, which includes Japanese, Indonesian and Burmese signature delicacies, is more experimental.
For appetisers, we choose the Tempura Prawns (R345) and Crispy Honey Chilli Vegetables (R215).

Tempura Prawns make for a soft crunchy bite with golden fried batter and succulent prawns.

However, on closer inspection, we find that the prawns are devoid of salt, making us reach for generous sprinkles of it. Also, perhaps it has something to do with the delay-cum-hurrying of the order that the batter isn’t consistent on all the poor crustaceans and one of the
coverings is actually moist.
Our drinks arrive, too — the much-recommended Berry Iced Tea (R180) and the Strawberry Lemonade (R180). The former is a treacly drink that tastes on the sweeter side initially, yet after a point the sourness is prominent in our slurps. The lemonade, on the other hand, isn’t too bad and comes with copious ice shavings on top. Our Chicken Khow Suey (R265) arrives with all the frills.

Though not big fans of the canteen plates (the compartmentalised rectangular ones), we drool to tuck into the coconut milk delicacy. As Thai food joints are the new wave in the city, expectations for this classic are very much high. Hot and tempting, our Khow Suey is soupy, making us dash for the
slippery noodles. Also, in terms of flavour, the joy of Khow Suey lies in its perfect balance of sweet and sour.

Our bowl, on the other hand, has oodles of flavour but lacks the tang.
And Chillies has a brownandwhite, clean colour scheme

The Spicy Indonesian Curry With Vegetables (R265) and the Burnt Garlic Rice (R195) arrive. The rice is aromatic,
chocolate saves the meal, to an extent. And Chillies isn’t a we figure, wouldn’t be a bad option once they fix these
teething issues. If you’re in the neighbourhood, step in and try your luck.
Actress Anushka Sharma with Aishwarya Rai in Karan Johar’s directorial  Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, says the former beauty queen’s role is “very different”.
“Yes, I am doing Karan Johar’s next, which also features Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya,” said the actress who worked with Ranbir in Bombay Velvet and “had a great bonding” with him.

“And I have grown up watching Karan’s films. Now it’s a great thing that I am working with Ranbir and Karan again. Aishwarya’s role is very different and new in the film and I am glad she is doing the film.”
To be shot across the globe

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday.
Shri Amitabh Bachchan met the Prime Minister
Amitabh is the brand ambassador of Gujarat, the state which Modi represented as Chief Minister earlier.
in the meeting Saturday, both Modi and Big B were dressed in  white kurta-pyjamas and wrapped themselves in shawls to beat the winter chill that has engulfed the capital.

Later, upon getting back to Mumbai, Amitabh, 72, tweeted- “Cold Delhi…warm Mumbai…happy home…soon happier  grandchildren coming in from the cold to be with their cousin in the warm.”
Actor Priyanka Chopra says she picks contentment over competition. “Every person needs to be content with the work they are doing. I am in competition with myself and not with the world,” says the 32-year-old actor, who feels that being in the showbiz was her destiny.

“I was studying to be an engineer. But I now know that this (the film industry) was my destiny, and this is my calling. I feel like a child in a china shop,” says Priyanka, who has also turned a producer.

She says this is a good time to be in films. “This is  an interesting time to be in the industry. As a woman, I feel great about the fact that scripts are being written for me, characters are being sketched keeping me in mind and I am getting amazing work.

Girls aren’t a prop anymore,” says the actor whose woman-centric film, Mary Kom, crossed the `100-crore mark.
And at a time when saying ‘awards don’t matter to me’ has become the ‘it’ thing in the film industry, PeeCee feels otherwise.
“How you feel about awards is an individual thing. In my opinion, these are a token of appreciation for the  good work that we do.

I see awards as encouragement and motivation to do better than what we are doing, and as a mark of people’s  faith in our work,” says Priyanka, who has also been declared the sexiest Asian woman of 2014 according to a British newspaper poll.

This is not the first time that she has won the title — she has won it earlier, too, but she says that does not take away the excitement.

“It’s extremely flattering  to have been voted so. For a few seconds, it made me feel wonderful about the support and faith I have from people,” says a grateful PeeCee, who has also earned many new fans through her international music stint.
Mumbai, March. 2 -- Katrina Kaif has suddenly started liking water bodies. Meaning? My Nautanki Naari says the actor is no longer afraid of spending a couple of minutes under the water.
Reason: she shot for a soft drink commercial in Thailand where she had to swim underwater without any diving gear. After a couple of takes, she slowly managed to get her breathing right. And then, she worked on her expressions and got them bang on.
According to Nautanki bai, she's inspired by her diving instructor act in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Right, but didn't she have some equipment on her then? Inspiration kaise phir? Tsk!
Actress Kajal Agarwal, who has acted in many successful Tamil and Telugu movies, is now debuting in the Kannada film industry. So, she is expected to rock the Sandalwood as she did in the Tollywood and Kollywood industry.

Kajal Agarwal

Debutant director Raghu Hassan has approached Kajal for his Kannada movie Thathasthu, which has Chiraag in the lead role. Hassan has now started working on his film.

Hassan said, “We will soon make an official announcement regarding the film”.

The director added, “Initially, we approached Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor for the role. But, we have almost finalized on Kajal Agarwal as she has also talked about her expectations”.

Lead actor Chiraag has also indicated Kajal being the heroine opposite him in the movie. Anaji Nagaraj is producing the movie, which was launched on July 9. Kajal is now busy with her two Tamil films and three Telugu projects.

Kajal has earlier acted in the Tamil films like Bommalattam, Pazhani, Saroja, Modhi Vilayadu, Naan Mahaan Alla and also in many Telugu films such as Lakshmi Kalyanam, Ganesh, Magadheera, Darling and many more.
Priyamani, the versatile actress of Paruthiveeran, experimented with movies in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Thanks to her skills, any movie she does is touted to be good.

The buzz has been generated and it says that she might be cast opposite the Bollywood macho man Salman Khan in a sequel to Wanted.

Priyamani

However, she has something else to say. She says that nothing’s been confirmed yet. There have been talks about Wanted 2, but all are still in the pipelines so far. She would definitely want to do a film with Salman Khan.

She also adds that she is not at all against the idea of working with a lesser known star from Bollywood. She would like to essay a role in a Bollywood flick, where she can showcase her acting abilities. Till then she’s cool and okay in the South. Here’s wishing the talented actress, the best of luck.
To put this in perspective, Chengdu's New Century Global Center is big enough to house 20 Sydney Opera Houses.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
New Century Global Center is the 'largest freestanding building in the world'
Mega-structure capable of housing 20 Sydney Opera Houses
Attractions include an IMAX cinema, water park and luxury retail outlets
(CNN) -- The superlatives in China continue -- the latest symbol of China's "bigger is much, much better" ethos is open for business.

Located in Chengdu (population 14 million), capital of Sichuan province in southwestern China, the New Century Global Center is the "largest freestanding building in the world," Chinese officials say.

Though the words "world's largest" usually bring to mind an image of a towering skyscraper, this project actually isn't all that tall. But it's certainly big.

At 500 meters long, 400 meters wide and 100 meters high, the 1.7-million-square-meter mega-structure is capable of housing 20 Sydney Opera Houses and almost three times the size of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

The Global Center, which opened June 28, is home to business offices, hotels, movie theaters, shopping malls, a faux Mediterranean village and family-themed attractions such as a water park called Paradise Island.

The New Century Global Center is located in an entirely new planned area of Chengdu called Tainfu New District.

Chengdu is also currently expanding its subway line and plans to construct a new airport by 2020, further suggesting official ambitions to make the city an economic and cultural capital of western China.

From June 6-8, Chengdu hosted this year's Fortune Global Forum, an annual invite-only event featuring chairs, presidents, and CEOs of the world's largest companies.

According to Xinhua, China's official state media, by the end of 2012 Chengdu's GDP had hit 800 billion RMB (US$130.48 billion).
